The thing that inspires me the most is the power of storytelling-especially when it's expressed through art, animation, anime fanart and design. I'm deeply moved by the way visuals can communicate emotions, build worlds, and connect people across different experiences. I'm inspired by kindness, by color, by the beauty in small moments, and by the idea that something I create might help someone feel seen, understood, or simply smile.

Hi my name is Florence Eleanor Tolbert, but I prefer to be called Flo or Mousy from people personally close to me. I'm a 27-year-old illustrator with a passion for storytelling through art. Born and raised in Compton, CA, my family always taught me to think of all situations as the glass being halfway full. stay positive and always keep a level head on my shoulders. As life continues I can say that the challenge to keep moving, definitely has its challenges, but we just keep swimming!!
My Story
I've been drawn to art and creativity since childhood, using it as a way to cope with the loss of my mother at the age of six. My early exposure to the arts led me to attend Ramon C. Cortines Visual and Performing arts High School (VAPA or Grand Arts) in Downtown Los Angeles, CA, and later, Parson School of Design - The New School in New York, NY, the third-ranked art college in the world. While I initially considered careers in UX/UI design and cybersecurity, I ultimately chose to express emotions telling stories and connecting with others through visual language. My art reflects my personality-kind, introspective, and emotionally aware-and it's inspired by the worlds I love, from anime and gaming to Marvel and Disney films.
Art has always been more than just a skill for me- it's a way to heal, to converse, and to inspire. Whether designing websites, sketching, or immersing myself in animated storytelling, I find joy in creating visuals that resonate with people on a personal level. My dream is to one day work for companies like Marvel, Netflix, Disney Pixar, Sony Illustrations, or Dreamworks, contributing to projects that shape imagination on global scale. My favorite colors-pink, lavender, violet, orange, golden yellow, and brown- reflect my creative spirit and the emotional warmth I bring into my work. Through every piece I create, I aim to honor my journey and spark a connection in others.
